By: Al Manar

AL-QATIF, Saudi Arabia: Al-Saud regime forces raided late on Sunday several houses in Qatif in the Eastern province, as protests against the execution of prominent cleric, Sheikh Nimr Baqer al-Nimr proceeded.

Local sources said that several houses were raided near al-Nahash Hussayniyah in Qatif. The houses are for Mahrous and Asfour families, the sources added.

Armored vehicles also entered al-Awamiyyah, the town of Sheikh Nimr along with three activists who took part in pro-democracy protests.

Saudi regime executed Sheikh Nimr on January 2. He was a vocal supporter of the mass pro-democracy protests against Riyadh, which erupted in Eastern Province in 2011, where a Shia majority has long complained of marginalization.

Meanwhile, peaceful rallies condemning the execution of Sheikh Nimr continued to take place in Qatif.

On Sunday, activists on social media announced a schedule of peaceful rallies aimed at demanding the handover of the martyrsí bodies.
