Imam Hussain (A)’s sacrifice commemorated in US

CALIFORNIA: Mourning processions and majalis programs across the United States marked Ashoora on Friday commemorating the everlasting sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) along with his 72 companions in Karbala, which was aimed at survival of Islam and humanity.

In New York, hundreds of Hussaini mourners brought out a procession on Friday chanting ‘Ya Hussain (AS)’, ‘Ya Hussain (AS)’. They were holding Taboot Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and Alam Hazrat Abbas (AS).

An Ashoora procession was taken out in downtown Chicago on Friday to mourn the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain ibn-e-Ali (AS), grandson of the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW), whose memory is symbolic of hope for the oppressed anywhere in the world. Holding Alam Hazrar Abbas Alamdar (AS), the black-dressed mourners recited dirges and performed matam (chest beating) thus offered their profound condolences to the holy family of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) on the tragic event. Processions were also taken out in other parts of the country.

Last Sunday, annual mourning procession organized by Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya (US) branch was taken out which began from Park Avenue and terminated at Pakistan Embassy. Hundreds of mourners belonging to different parts of the world by attending the procession performed matam and offered Noha-Khawani.

Meanwhile, Hussaini commemoration remained in continuous during the first ashra of Muharram-ul-Haram with Imambargahs, mosques and Islamic centers crammed with mourners, and orators highlighted the objective of Imam Hussain (AS)’s Qayam.

Syed-Mohsin Naquvi addressed Muharram majalis in English every evening after Maghrib at Azakhana-e-Zahra in San Jose California. At Imambargah-e-MASOM Chicago, Ashra-e-Muharram Majalis were addressed by Maulana Asad Yawar, at Al-Ahad center Allentown PA Molana Javad Bilgrim addressed muharrama majalis while at Jaffaria CT Prof. Ali Raza Shah, at Almany Jamaat Molana Abid, at Masoomin VA Malana Rizvi, at Zainabia Atlanta Moulana Ashiq Hussain Naqvi, at Zainabia NJ Dr. Sakhawat Mandralvi, at Mefil NJ Professor Abul Qasim, at Bayt-ul-Qyem NJ Moulana Mukhtar Ahmed, at Astana Zehra NJ Dr.Kalbe Sadiq, at Imam Alkhoi Islamic Cnter NY Dr. Sakhawat Mandralvi, at Shah-e-Najaf NY Moulana Matlub Mahdi, at Markaz Ar-Rasoolil Azam Washington Hujjatul Islam Wal Muslimeen Ash-Sheikh Muhammad Taqi Zakiri after Maghrebain prayers, at Islamic Education Center of Houston Texas, Urdu Majlis were addressed by Moulana M. Askari, Farsi Majlis by Moulana Nasser Biria, English Majlis by Hadi Elmi, Arabic Majlis by Sheikh Kassem Baydoun and Sister’s Urdu Majlis by Sis. Batool Najafi.
