Birthday of Sadqain (a) celebrated in Iraq By: Ismail Zabeeh KAZMAYN SHARIFAYN, Iraq: Multitudes of devotees on Rabee-ul-Avval 17 swarmed at the holy mausoleums of Imams (PBUT) in the holy cities of Najaf, Karbala, Kazmayn, Samra and Baghdad to mark Maulidur-Rasul and his 6th truthful successor Al-Imam Jafer As-Sadiq (PBUH).
It was the first time in decades that they celebrated the joyous occasion openly as such rituals were banned during Saddam regime.
Descending at the shrine of Al-Imam Ali (PBUH) in the holy city of Najaf, shrines of Al-Imam Al-Hussain (PBUH) and Hadhrat Abbas (PBUH) in the holy city of Karbala, shrines of Al-Imam Mussa Al-Kazim (PBUH) and Al-Imam Muhammad Taqi (PBUH) in Kazmayn Sharifayn and shrines of Al-Imam Ali An-Naqi (PBUH) and Al-Imam Hassan Al-Askari (PBUH) in Samra, the devotees performed a’maal, recited eulogies thus greeted the holy Imams (PBUT) on the auspicious occasion.
