By: Khadija Chinese

BEIJING, China: A copy of holy Quran kept in Ningxia Museum in China's Ningxia province has been identified as the world's smallest Quran, state media reported Friday.

The mini Quran, weighing 1.1 grams, and just 19.6 millimeters long (0.77 inches), 13.2 millimeters wide (0.52 inches) and 6.1 millimeters thick (0.24 inches), is printed in tiny Arabic characters.

A researcher from the museum Xinyu said that the Quran was a full version and can be read only under a microscope. According to Xinyu a Chinese Muslim brought the Quran to China from Mecca in Saudi Arabia, but its origin and details of its history were unknown.
