Israel again bars UN probe in Jenin By: Jafariyanews UNITED NATIONS: Israel has again decided to bar a United Nations fact-finding team seeking to visit the Palestinian refugee camp in the West Bank town of Jenin.
Cabinet ministers said in a statement that Israel has raised a number of issues it feels must be addressed before there can be a fair review of what happened in Jenin. According to the statement as long as Israeli conditions are not met there is no possibility the UN team could begin its work. Palestinians say that Israeli forces carried out a massacre of hundreds of civilians in the Jenin camp. While Israel says only about 50 Palestinian fighters and civilians were killed in Jenin. END Pakistanis vote in Referendum polling By: Salman Alvi LAHORE, Pakistan: Pakistanis cast their votes Tuesday in a national referendum to decide whether to extend the rule of President Pervez Musharraf for five more years. Extremely tight security was imposed at the more than 87-thousand polling stations set up throughout the country. The polling started at 09:00 am in all the polling stations with a moderate turnout. The President Musharraf and his family cast their votes at the Fatima Jinnah Women University polling station in Rawalpindi.
