The parties that were

Report by: prominent analyst S. H. Zaidi Sindh

The purpose of this report is to invite reader's attention towards the issue of January 20, 2002 of The News that included a misguiding report captioned “The parties that were” (on Page 24), written by Asim Hussain. The way facts were misreported, it is indicated that the said reporter is unaware of the facts. In this write-up the author has made a fatal attempt to damage the reputation of Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Pakistan. It is crystal clear that Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Pakistan came into existence as a reaction to former dictator Gen. Ziaul Haq’s announcement to make Pakistan a sectarian State, first chief of which was Allama Mufti Jafar Hussain. After his death, the whole Shia community gathered at a huge convention of Pakistan’s history at Dina, near Asadabad on February 10, 1984. More than five lakh Shia’an-e-Haider Karrar attended that All Pakistan Convention as reported by “Akhbar-e-Jehan” while some papers had put this figure as seven and even nine lakh. A practising scholar, Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi Al-Najafi was unanimously elected as Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya, Pakistan. On the other hand a gathering of only 28 persons held a closed-door meeting in Bhakkar on some foreign indicators forming a separate group under the leadership of Maulana Arif Hussaini. This group later held Quran and Sunnat Conference at Meenar-e-Pakistan at which they announced conversion of this group into a political party. Sajid Naqvi became the chief of this group (Tehreek-e-Jafariya) after the murder of Maulana Arif Al-Hussaini while ISO and some other small groups separated themselves from this group. Fazil Moosavi was imported from America to lead one of the sub-groups and when he failed, it was taken over by Shahid Naqvi and it was turned into Shoora-e-Wahdat, and the race of creating more sub-groups went on.

Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya, on the other hand is the representative organisation of Maktab-e-Tashih from the day one. A strong agitation was launched in the leadership of Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya, Pakistan, Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi after the demise of Mufti Jafar Hussain as a result of which May 21, 1985 Junejo-Moosavi agreement was signed. The writer does not even know that Allama Arif Al-Hussaini was murdered in 1988.

Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya considers taking part in politics in the name of fiqh and religion fatal for the nation but only that party won the elections and came into power that was supported by Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya. If the person who is responsible for this write-up could not analyse the force of this Tehreek then he should come and watch the Ashoora procession or Youm-e-Inhidaam Jannatul Baqee rallies.

The only ‘crime’ of Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya is that neither it is a terrorist outfit nor it has been involved in terrorism, it always gives importance to Nazria-e-Asaasi and never receives any aid while all other parties being advocated by the writer are being run on foreign aid which is no more a secret.

By publishing above mentioned report based on lie is not only damaging for the reputation of daily The News but it also enraged the feelings of the Millat-e-Jafariya Pakistan.

"Knowledge is better than wealth because it protects you while you have to guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."
