300 martyrs’ funeral; Ayat Khamenei to conduct prayers By: Sheikh Muhammad Khurasani TEHRAN, Iran: A funeral service for nearly three hundred Iranian soldiers will be held in Iranian capital city of Tehran on Friday. The soldiers were martyred in the eight-year Iran-Iraq war of 1980-88. Search teams have uncovered since the end of the war the remains of hundreds of Iranian soldiers who were martyred in both Iranian and Iraqi territories. The two sides also exchange bodies and remains of soldiers on several occasions. The Organization of Islamic Propaganda as quoted by 'Jomhouri Eslami' newspaper on Thursday urged the nation to attend the funeral of the unknown soldiers that will be held after the Friday prayers on Nov 22. Wednesday, the headquarters for the Friday prayers said that the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatullah Ali Khamenei would conduct this Friday Prayers at Tehran University. END |
