Saudi authorities change name of Masjid Fatimah

JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia: Jeddah authorities have changed name of a
mosque called ‘Masjid As-Sayedah Fatimah (s)’ to ‘Masjid Ar-Rahmah’
saying that ‘Fatimah’ is name of the mother of that man who
constructed the mosque and naming mosques after human beings name is
not lawful, ebaa news reported.
But the people of the region say that the mosque was mamed after
Sayedah Fatimah Az-Zahra (s), the daughter of Prophet Muhammad (s),
and not the mother of the constructer.
According to the report one of Saudi dailies stated that this mosque
had become place of pilgrimage for Muslims from East Asia and Iran
which led the Saudi authorities to change its name!!
