Hundreds of thousands descending in Najaf to mourn Prophet (s)

HOLY NAJAF, Iraq: It was Safar 28 when the chief of
prophets, Prophet Muhammad b. Abdullal Al-Mostafa (peace be on him and
his holy progeny) was martyred.
It has been a practice every year that mourners gather in the holy
city of Najaf to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the Prophet
(peace be on him and his holy progeny) at the holy shrine of his first
infallible descendant, son-in-law and cousin Amir-ol Mominin Al-Imam
Ali b. Abi Talib (peace be on him).
This year also, hundreds of thousands have been descending in Najaf to
present their condolence marking the sad occasion to Al-Imam Ali
(peace be on him). Throughout the ways leading to Najaf, security has
been beefed up and arrangements have been made to ease the pilgrims.
