North America’s largest Husseini procession held

NEW YORK, The United States: Annual Chelum juloos – the largest mourning procession in North America - was held in Flushing, New York to commemorate the great sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS) rendered some 1,400 years ago.

Several anjumans (organizations) participated in matamdari and nohakhani including Anjuman-e-Janisar (NY), Hussain Qalandari Matami dasta (NY), Anjum Shah Sangat, Razakhan Al-Khoei, Markazi Matami dasta (NY), Anjuman-e-Ghulaman-e-Mehdi (Brooklyn,), Dua-e-Zahra (Va), Nohakhan Jawad Naqvi (Va), Ghulaman-e-Abbas (Ct) and Siphe Ali Akber (NJ).

New York is the heartland of America, as well as the Markaz of traditional azadari in North America.
