Centuries-old Quran copy found in local US church

By: Mohamed Ali

BOSTON, The United States: A researcher Hank Pierce has found a translation of the holy Quran that was published in 1795. He went to the Universalist Church to check out some old books that are part of the library of the Rev. David Osgood, who served the church 300 years ago.

According to Pierce the small brown book shows that Osgood "has a real intellectual curiosity."

"Here he was at the end of the American Revolution and it was a time of great change. Here was a religious book and he wanted to see what it had to say," Pierce told.

At the time the book was published, there weren't any Muslims living in Massachusetts, Pierce said.

"Knowledge is better than wealth because it protects you while you have to guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."MORE ..
