Supreme Shiite Council slams massacre in Bahrain

BEIRUT, Lebanon: Lebanon’s Supreme Islamic Shiite Council
has strongly condemned massacre at the hands of Bahraini security
forces against protesters that demand justice and equity among the
people of Bahrain.
In a statement, vice chief of the council Sheikh Abdel-Amir Qabalan
slammed Bahraini forces steps as contradictory to freedom of speech.
Bahrain has been rocked by unrest since Feb. 14 that has led to calls
for the government’s dismissal and the creation of a constitutional
monarchy after at least five people were martyred as security forces
opened fire on demonstrators.
