Qom Ayat calls upon all Muslims to mourn ‘Baqee Demolition Day’

as-Safi Gulpaygani while terming the day of Shawal 8 as the ‘Day of
Mourning’ has called upon all the Muslims to strongly condemn the
great crimes committed at the hands of Saudi rulers against the holy
cemetery of Al-Baqee, the cemetery of Ahli Bait-on Nabi Al-Karim (S),
hold grand majalis al-aza and mourning processions so that no one
forget this sinful injustice against Islam, Quran and the personality
of Chief of Prophets (S) and his holy progeny (AS).
On Shawal 8, 1344 AH (25 April 1925), the then Saudi rulers bulldozed
the holy shrines of Prophet Muhammad (S)’s daughter Hazrat Fatimah
Zahra (AS), Imam Hasan Al-Mojtaba (AS), Imam Zainul Abideen (AS), Imam
Muhammad Baqer (AS), Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS), companions, ancestors, and
wives of Prophet (S) housed in the cemetery of Al-Baqee, holy city of
Medinah, Saudi Arabia.
The Ayatollah urged the need to reconstruct these holy shrines and
sites particularly the place of birth of Prophet in Makkah, graves of
Prophet’s daughter, wife, grandfather, paternal uncles i.e. Abu Talib
and Hamzah, and four imams from his progeny calling for the protection
of these matchless prides of Islam.
