Arbaeen mourners warned of religious book bombs

WASHINGTON: Iraqi interior ministry has called on
Husseini pilgrims to remain alert after the security sources warned of
Al Qaeda's terrorist plots to target the mourners in the country,
including a plot to kill them by planting explosives inside religious
books and distributing them among pilgrims on the religious morning
day of Arbaeen.
An informed source in the Iraqi Salaheddin province's police center
said that Al Qaeda in Iraq has extensive plots to target pilgrims who
are due to hold the Arbaeen ceremonies, marking the 40th day after the
martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS).
The source told Shafaq news on the condition of anonymity: "They
(terrorists) try to use well-known religious books Mafatihol Jinan,
Diya-os Saliheen and many others crammed with explosives during
Arbaeen and distribute them among pilgrims."
Several million mourners will commemorate Arbaeen in Karbala.
