Samarra witnesses Al-Askary mourning, tens of thousands participate

SAMARRA, Iraq: Marking the end of two-month and eight
day-long period of Hussein mourning and martyrdom anniversary of
Al-Imam Al-Hasan Al-Askary (AS), the 11th infallible descendant of
Prophet Muhammad (S) on Rabi al-Awwal 8, tens of thousands of mourners
gathered at the holy Al-Askariyain shrine in Samarra on Wednesday Feb
1.
Security was beefed up for safety of pilgrims while tents and stalls
were set up to ease he mourners and guests of Al-Imam Al-Hojjah (the
Last Proof of Allah on earth).
