Karbalayians observe Imam As-Sadeq (AS) martyrdom day

HOLY CITY OF KARBALA, Iraq: Marking the martyrdom anniversary of
sadisul-Aa’immah Al-Imam Jafar bin Muhammad As-Sadeq (AS), the sixth
infallible descendant of Chiefs of Prophet, Prophet Muhammad (s),
mourning ceremonies were held at the holy shrine of Al-Imam Al-Hussein
(AS) in the holy city of Karbala.
The holy imam was martyred on Shawal 15, according to some traditions
while some others say it was Shawal 25 when the Imam (AS) kissed
martyrdom.
Throughout the day, starting from dawn, the holy shrine witnessed
massive mourning processions that after marching through the streets
of this holy city culminated at the holy Husseini and Abbasi shrines
presenting their condolence to the Imam (S) and his brother Al-Abbas
(AS). Majalis were also held.
