Arbaeen commemoration in Iran

HOLY CITY OF MASH'HAD, Iran: Arbaeen-e-Hussaini is being observed across Iran with reverence on Wednesday 23 April with Azadari reaches its heights on Tuesday night.
Marasim-e-Azadari (mourning rituals) began with Maghrebayn prayers on Tuesday in the holy Shrines, tombs of Imam-Zadgaan, mosques and hussainiyaat.
In the holy city of Mash'had, thousands of mourners gathered at the holy shrine of Hazrat Imam Ali bin Mousa Ar-Reza (AS). They recited elegies and performed chest-beating offering condolences to the Imam on Arbaeen of his grandfather Imam Hussain (AS).
Azadari programs were also held at the holy shrine of Hazrat Sayyidah Fatimah Al-Masoomah (SA), the daughter of Hazrat Imam Mousa bin Jafar Al-Kazim (AS) and sister of Hazrat Imam Ali bin Mousa Ar-Reza, in the holy city of Qom as well as at the tomb of founder of Islamic Republic of Iran Grand Ayatullah Rouhullah Khomeini (late) in Tehran.
On Wednesday Safar 20, Arbaeen-e-Hussaini programs will begin at 5:00 AM. A`maal will be offered, majalis will be held and processions will be taken out.
On Thursday, a gathering of poets is scheduled to be held in Zahidan. Well-known poets will recite their verses in praise of Ahlul Bayt (AS) especially Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS).
