Pilgrims perform Friday night amaal in Karbala

HOLY CITY OF KARBALA, Iraq: Thousands of mourning pilgrims are still in the holy city of Karbala, which houses the holy shrines of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and Hazrat Abbas Alamdar (AS), being busy in worship.

Throughout Shab-e-Juma (the night between Thursday and Friday), throngs of pilgrims at the shrines of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his brother and standard-bearer of his army Hazrat Abbas (AS) performed Friday night Amaal which include prayers, recitation of holy Quran, recitation of Hadith-e-Kisa, recitation of Ziarat Imam Hussain bin Ali (AS), offering Amirul Momineen Hazrat Ali ibn-e-Abi Talib (AS) prayer as well as other supererogatory prayers, and prayers in favor of brethren faithful.

Friday night is that night which enjoys elevation of nobility and pride over all other nights. One of best deeds of Friday night is to spend night in worship because it is the night when Allah, the Sublime, descends blessings on the faithful. Sixth descendant of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW), Hazrat Imam Jafar bin Muhammad Al-Sadeq (AS) said it is the night when Allah fulfills His servants' prayers, forgives them and sends His blessings upon them.
