5-day Arbaeen program ends in Damascus

DAMASCUS, Syria: A five-day mourning program marking Arbaeen-e-Hussaini concluded in Syrian capital city of Damascus where the holy Shrine of Hazrat Sayyedah Zaynab (SA), daughter of Imam Ali ibn-e-Abi Talib (AS), is located.

The program, which began on 17 Safar and ended on 21 Safar was held at Hussainiyah Al-Hawzah Al-Ilmiyah Az-Zaynabiyah under the auspices of Khidmah Ahlul Bayt (AS) Organization of Karbala Youth, residing in Syria.

Hundreds of mourning people including religious scholars from Hawzaat Ilmiyah attended the program that consisted of daily Majalis, Latmiyaat and Procession on 20 Safar. Sheikh Hassan An-Nasrawi addressed majalis and highlighted the holy life and personality of Imam Hussain (AS) as well as his objective of Qayam. Al-Haaj Mulla Jalil Al-Karbalayi, Mulla Muhammad Al-Karbalayi and Ali Al-Karbalayi offered dirges.
On Arbaeen day, the organization arranged a mourning procession, which after passing through streets culminated at the holy Shrine of Hazrat Sayyedah Zaynab (SA) offering her deep condolences on the occasion. Mulla Jalil Al-Karbalayi and Al-Haaj Mohamed Reza Al-Qazvini recited elegies.
