LONDON: Arbaeen-e-Hussaini - the fortieth day after the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS)
To commemorate the occasion, an Arbaeen procession with two large replicas of holy shrines of Imam Hussain (A.S) and Hazrat Abbas (A.S) was held on Sunday 20th April 2003 at Marble Arch London, with speeches in English, Urdu, Farsi and Arabic at 2:30pm. Speakers included Maulana Sayed Kamal Musavi and Maulana Sayed Ashiq Hussain Naqvi.
The mourning procession then traveled down Park Lane and returned to Marble Arch at 6pm for Ziyarat-e-Arbaeen followed by the free distribution of Safinul Nejaat Dua Book, Sajdegah and refreshments. The procession, organized by Hussaini Islamic Trust UK, attracted about 2,000 men, women and children from all ethnic backgrounds: Pakistan, India, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, etc.
