Her name was Fatima Bint-e-Hazam bin Khalid Ibn-e-Rabi’e Ibn-e-Amer Kalbi. She was also known as 'Ummul Baneen’, which means 'Mother of Sons'. She belonged to the clan of Banu Kilab, which was one of the noblest tribes of Arab and famous for the bravery and valour.

Commander of Faithful Imam Ali (AS) married her after the martyrdom of Hazrat Fatimah Zahra (SA), the daughter of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW).

All of her sons were martyred along with Imam Hussain (AS) in the plain of Karbala. When she received the news of martyrdom of her four sons, she said: “Tell me about Hussain (AS)” and when she was told about the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) she said: “All of the arteries of my heart are torn. May all of my children and what ever that exists under this azure heaven be sacrificed for the sake of Imam Hussain (AS).”

Her holy grave is in Medina, Saudi Arabia.
