Ayat Al-Modarresi flays Najaf attack as assault on all Maraje

HOLY CITY OF NAJAF, Iraq: Ayatullah Sayyid Muhammad Taqi Al-Modarresi has condemned Sunday attack at the house of Grand Ayatullah Sayyid Muhammad Saeed Al-Hakim in the holy city of Najaf which left at least three people dead and nearly a dozen injured.

In a statement, Ayatullah Al-Modarresi termed the attack as an attack on all Ayaat, and urged the Iraqi nation to defend Marjaiyah position.

He demanded immediate elections in the country and forthwith withdrawal of American occupying forces thence.
