Cairo-Tehran call for US withdrawal from Iraq By: Mohamed Ali GENEVA: Egyptian and Iranian presidents have emphasized that US-led occupying forces must quit Iraq and transfer that country's power to the Iraqi people. During a meeting held Wednesday at the residence of Iran’s president Muhammad Khatami in Geneva, the two sides evaluated the continuation of Iraq's occupation as a factor contributing to the growth of terrorist moves and a threat against regional stability. They stressed the need for the establishment of a political system in Iraq that will harmonize with the regional countries. END |
