Ayat Lankarani: Opposition to France scarf ban obligatory

HOLY CITY OF QOM, Iran: Ayatullah Fazil Lankarani has said that veil is from the necessities of the religion and all are duty bound to rise in opposition to any government that takes initiative against it.

He stated this after a group of Muslims living in Europe asked the Ayatullah his opinion over French government plans to ban Islamic headscarves from public schools and maybe at work, too.

Ayatullah Lankarani surprised that how European States voice for democracy and freedom in such a time when they stand against this fundamental human right.
