Imam Al-Sadiq (AS)’s martyrdom marked in various parts

KUWAIT CITY: Majalis-e-Aza were held across the globe to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of 6th descendant of Holy Prophet (SAW), Hazrat Imam Jafar Bin Muhammad Al-Sadiq (AS).

In Kuwait, majalis were arranged at Mosques and Hussainiyaat to mark the occasion.

Addressing a majlis e aza at Hussainiyah Al-Abbasiyah, Al-Mansuriyah, Al-Sheikh Jafar Al-Qatifi threw light on the seerah and character of Imam Jafar Bin Muhammad (AS). He said over 4000 students sought knowledge of different sciences from Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq (AS).

Al-Sheikh Al-Qatifi quoted the words of Abu Hanifah that he (Abu Hanifa) is here just due to those two years which he had spent as a pupil of Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq (AS).

In Pakistan, Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq (AS)’s martyrdom anniversary was observed as ‘Youm-e-Aza’ in line with the announcement of Quaid-e-Millat-e-Jafariya Pakistan Agha Moosavi. Majalis-e-Aza were held in mosques and Imambargahs and Taboot processions taken out on this occasion.

In Iran, offices of grand Ayatullahs, Islamic Foundations and different organizations arranged majalis programs. Majalis were also held at the holy shrines of Hazrat Imam Ali Al-Raza (AS) in Mash’had and Hazrat Fatimah Al-Masoumah in Qom.

A majlis-e-aza was held at the residence of late grand Ayatullah Muhammad Hussaini Al-Shirazi in the holy city of Qom organized by grand Ayatullah Sayyid Sadiq Al-Shirazi.

Scholarly, seminary and social personalities attended the majlis, which was addressed by Hujjatul Islam Wal Muslimeen Al-Yathrabi, Hujjatul Islam Wal Muslimeen Al-Mahmoudi and Hujjatul Islam Wal Muslimeen Qazi Al-Zahidi.

In South Korea, A majlis-e-aza was held under the auspices of Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya Pakistan (TNFJ) South Korea wing. Renowned speakers addressed the majlis followed by matam. Later, Niyaz of Imam Hussain (AS) was distributed.

Large number of followers of Ahlul Bait (AS) including scholars and intelligentsia gathered at Karbala Islamic Center, Detroit, Michigan, United States on December 29 to offer their condolences to Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) on the sad occasion. Al-Khateeb Abdel Hameed Al-Mohajir addressed the mourning gathering.

Outlining the need of infallible existence on the earth, Al-Mohajir highlighted the holy life of Imam Al-Sadiq (AS). He further added that Imam Al-Sadiq (AS) focused on two issues: dissemination of Ahlul Bait (AS)’s thinking and establishing azadari (mourning services) of his grandfather Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS). Another Majlis was also held at Imam Ali Center of Detroit.
