Held Kashmir's APHC picks new chairman By: A. A. Rathor SRINAGAR, Held Kashmir: Moulvi Abbas Ansari has been chosen on Saturday the new chief of the 23-party alliance, All Parties Hurriyat Conference of Held Kashmir. Oppressed Kashmiris have been struggling for achievement of their right of self-determination for more than half a century from aggressive India. Ansari, head of the Ittahadul Muslimeen freedom movement, was declared chairman of the APHC by outgoing chairman Prof. Abdul Ghani Bhat of the Muslim Conference, whose two-year term expires later this month. The APHC was set up in the early 1990s to represent all major freedom movements in Indian-occupied Kashmir. END |
