Sheikh Al-Waeli’s funeral held in holy city of Karbala

HOLY CITY OF KARBALA, Iraq: Thousands gathered on Tuesday at the holy mausoleum of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)’s grandson Al-Imam Al-Hussein (AS) in the holy city of Karbala during the funeral of renowned Arab world speaker of Husseini Pulpit Sheikh Ahmed al-Waeli.

He was expired on Monday 14 Jamadi-ul-Oula at the age of 76 in Baghdad less than a week after his return from exile in the holy city of Karbala, about 110 kilometers, 68 miles south of Baghdad. His dead body was taken from Bratha mosque in Baghdad to the holy city of Karbala on Monday.

Sheikh Ahmed al-Waeli was born in 1927 in the holy city of Najaf, which houses the holy mausoleum of Al-Imam Ali (AS). He completed his masters from Mahad Al-Aloum Al-Islamiyah in Baghdad and doctorate from Cairo University. At the same time, he also achieved Hawzawiyah studies by prominent scholars. He spent his last years in Syria.

Sheikh Al-Waeli wrote a number of books some of them are:

- The prisons laws between the shariah and the law

- Towards a scientific interpretation of the Quran

- Defence for the dogma.

- My experiences with the pulpit

- The civilized background of An-Najaf before Islam

- The postulates in the life of the imam on (peace be upon him)

- The protection of the animal in the Islamic law

- The interpretation doctrines to the Holy Quran
