Nationwide ‘Martyr Day’ programs finalized in Pakistan By: Salman Alvi RAWALPINDI, July 2: A meeting of the Central Martyr Day Committee of TNFJ was held to finalize the programs of Martyr Day on July 6 throughout the country on the call of Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi. Convener Maalik Ashtar presided over the meeting. According to Secretary of the Committee Syed Ali abbas Naqvi, conveners have been appointed in all the four provinces including Federal Capital Islamabad, Azad Kashmir and Northern Areas to organize Quran Khwani, Majalis-e-Taraheem and other functions to mark the occasion. The Conveners and Secretaries of the Provincial Committees for Martyr Day are: Allama Basharat Hussain Imami and Allama Sadiqi (Islamabad), Basit Ali and Mehdi Hazarvi (Balochistan), Syed Lutfullah Shah Lakyari and Anwar Ali Jafri (Sindh), Sadiq Ali Hayat and Waqar Ali Mir (NWFP), Abu Jafar Naqvi and Zamir Javed Advocate (Punjab), Allama Syed Ali Moosavi Iskandarabadi and Akhund Ghulam Muhammad Ammoni (Northern Areas), and Riaz Hussain Kazmi and Kh. Basharat Ali Jafri (Azad Kashmir). Central Convener Maalik Ashtar in his address on the occasion said, struggle for upholding Kalma-e-Haq is worship, bearing detention is a blessing and presenting sacrifice of lives is martyrdom that is much desired by a Momin. He said colonial powers were using every tactic to cool down the martyrdom spirit of Muslims but they would never succeed in their nefarious designs. He said as per saying of Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi, struggle for achievement of rights is not terrorism but encroaching upon rights is. He said the world would not have faced oppression and brutality today had the United Nations Resolutions were implemented. He said the whole responsibility for problems faced by the oppressed nations lay on the United Nations. The Central Convener appealed the countrymen to pay homage on July 6 to martyr Muhammad Hussain Shad, all other martyrs in religion and motherland including Kashmir, Palestine, and Iraq by organizing Quran Khwani and Majalis-e-Taraheem for them and express complete solidarity with the oppressed and have-nots the world over.
