Pak Imambargah martyrs inhumed in presence of thousands By: Naqi Hazarah QUETTA, Pakistan: Thousands of wailing mourners while beating their chests attended on Saturday morning the funeral for 45 victims of terror attack at Imambargah Kalan Isna Ashariyah in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta.
Unknown terrorists had launched a hand-grenade and firing attack on Friday congregation consisted of thousands of worshippers at the Imambargah leaving more than 4-dozen innocent worshippers martyred and scores more injured. Following the Friday's attack, which was the third terrorist assault in slightly more than one month in Quetta, the government called in troops and imposed a curfew. Saturday, the city administration announced five-hour hiatus in curfew from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Most of the martyrs were inhumed at the Hazara graveyard not far from the imambargah that was attacked a day earlier, while other bodies were taken by their families to their ancestral graveyards for burial. After returning home at the end of a four-nation tour, President Musharraf promised to take “the toughest action” possible against the culprits. He said: “They are illiterate and wild elements, who are not only causing damage to the country, but they are also bringing a bad name to Islam.” Meanwhile, the three-day mourning declared by the Quaid-Millat-e-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi for the martyrs is being observed throughout the country.
