Pal official-EU envoys discuss security forces remaking

JERICHO, West Bank: European Union (EU) diplomats held talks with Palestinian security minister Muhammad Dahlan in the West Bank city of Jericho on the issue of security forces reconstruction.
An Israeli press report quoted on Monday Dahlan as saying to the diplomats of Spain, Germany, France and Sweden that the Palestine Authority needs $400 million to rebuild its shattered security forces.
Dahlan is expected to lead the efforts of the Palestine authority in taking security responsibility in areas vacated by the Israeli army under the peace plan.
During the meeting, the diplomats assured Dahlan the request would be studied.
