TNFJ IBD urges govt-opp to ensure Parliament dignity By: Salman Alvi ISLAMABAD, June 28: A combined meeting of Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya District Islamabad was held at District Coordination Office. TNFJ Federal Council President Allama Basharat Hussain Imami presided over the meeting while central leader of the Tehreek Syed Qamar Haider Zaidi was the chief guest. Office-bearers of subordinate departments also attended the meeting. Addressing the meeting, Syed Qamar Haider Zaidi called upon the government and the opposition to ensure the respect and dignity of the Parliament. He said government and the opposition are the two wheels of a vehicle and are hands of democracy. He said keeping to the present situation prevailing at international and regional level it is necessary to work together for the solidarity of the motherland and to strengthen democracy. Allama Basharat Hussain Imami, in his address called upon the rulers to remove the unrest from amongst the ranks of Millat-i-Jafariya that is being ignored of ideological representation in all State departments. He presented a resolution in this connection that was adopted by the participants of the meeting. The resolution demanded from the government to implement the May 21, 1985 Junejo-Moosavi agreement regarding Shia demands immediately and remove the sense of deprivation found in the ranks of the nation. Another resolution also demanded from the government to implement the steps and directives of Gen. Pervez Musharraf to root out terrorism and effectively implement the Presidential Anti-Terrorism Order without any delay. Paying homage to Quetta incident martyrs, the resolution expressed its concern that assassin of the martyrs could not be arrested so far, therefore, the terrorists should be tackled with an iron hand, and assassins should be arrested forthwith and given an exemplary punishment. The District office-bearers presented performance reports about their respective departments. Fateha Khwani was offered for the Martyrs of Millat, particularly the Quetta martyrs at the conclusion of the meeting. Special prayers were also offered on this occasion for the development and stability of Muslims at large and motherland Pakistan, and survival and strengthening of democracy in the country. END |
