Hawzah Ilmiyah Qateef marks Mourning Day By: Abdulali AL-QATEEF, Saudi Arabia: Mourning Day to commemorate the martyrdom of nearly 182 Ulama-e-Din at the hands of despotic Saddam regime was marked in Saudi Arabia like Iraq, Iran, Syria. Lebanon and Kuwait on Wednesday, May 7, Rabiul Awwal 5. Top religious authorities, or Grand Ayaat, and Religious Seminaries, or Hawzaat Ilmiyah in Iraq, Iran and Lebanon had announced general Mourning Day to pay homage to a large number of religious scholars whose martyrdom was revealed recently after the fall of Saddam regime. Al-Hawzah Al-Ilmiyah Al-Qateef, Saudi Arabia, arranged a Majlis-e-Fatiha to mark the occasion. The majlis held on Wednesday morning was attended by the Hawzah administration, scholars and students besides people from all walks of life. Allamah Sheikh Mahmoud As-Saif, one of scholars and deans of Al-Hawzah Al-Ilmiyah Tehran and a scholar of Al-Hawzah Al-Ilmiyah Al-Qateef addressed the majlis. He spoke on the role of Ulama played during different eras. The majlis participants extended their condolences to the Imam Al-Asr (ATF), the theological seminary of holy city of Najaf, Maraje Uzzam, Ulama and all bereaved families over the affliction. END |
