Israeli forces martyr above 2,000 Pals in intifada: Report

GAZA CITY: At least 2,278 Palestinians have been martyred at the hands of Israeli forces since intifada erupted more than two years back.
The Palestinian Council for Peace and Justice (PCPJ) disclosed this in a report released Monday. It said 604 of the fatalities were below the age of 18, 316 of them were school children, 272 members of the security services, 116 were from women's organizations and 39 were martyred by Jewish settlers.
Among 44,157 injured, some 2,750 are children and 12,152 are women. Around 5,800 Palestinians endure disability from their wounds.
The report further said the Israeli army detained 19,028 Palestinians since the beginning of intifada, and around 8,000 of them are still behind Israeli bars.
