Ayat Seestani calls for Fatiha of Shohada

In The Name of Allah The Merciful, The Most Merciful

Some believers are men who are sincere in what they pledge to Allah, while others have already fulfilled their mortal duty, and still others are waiting [their chance]; they have not changed in the least (33:23)

After the Iraqi people rejoiced at the downfall of the despotic rule in their country, the heinous crimes perpetrated by that regime began to unfold. Most notably the murder of thousands of innocent detainees and prisoners from various walks of life such as religious scholars, lecturers, intellectuals and tribal folk from different towns in Iraq – even women and children were not spared. All those killed only wanted to adhere to their noble religion.

At the forefront of those murdered were tens of religious scholars, prominent theologians and lecturers at the Hawza in Najaf and other seats of learning in Iraq; particularly those from the families of AL-HAKIM, BAHRUL-ULOOM, AL-KHALKHALI, AL-KHOEI, AL-MILANI, AL-JAWAHERI, AL-MAR’ASHI, AL-ANSARI, AL-SHUBBAR and AL-KHARSSAN including others from religious families and different Islamic faiths.

On such tragic circumstances we convey our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the Imam of our time Imam Al-Mahdi (a.t.f.) and to all our Grand Maraji’, the Hawzaat and to the families and relatives of those victims and martyrs. We ask Allah Almighty to grant them all patience and comfort during their hour of grief.

On instructions from the Supreme Marja’iyyah and learned Ullema in Najaf al-Ashraf, Fatiha Majalis for the souls of the martyrs will be convened in Iraqi towns.
