Iran: Majalis mark Wasi-e-Rasool (p)’s martyrdom anniversary By: Sheikh Muhammad Khurasani HOLY CITY OF MASH’HAD, Iran: Thousands of mourners, grieved on the martyrdom anniversary of Wali Ullah, Wasi-e-Rasool (SAW), Hazrat Ali Murtaza (AS), flocked to the holy shrines in the holy cities of Mash’had and Qom to extend their heartfelt condolences to the holy family (AS) over the sad occasion. Commander of the faithful Hazrat Ali (AS) was wounded by a Kharejite assassin Ibn-e-Muljim (L) at the Mosque of Kufa, Iraq, at Fajar time on 19th of Ramadan and kissed martyrdom two nights later on 21st of Ramadan. It is reported that 21st Ramadan night is like Shab-e-Ashoor (10th Muharram night when Hazrat Imam Hussain bin Ali Ibn-e-Abi Talib (AS) was martyred with his 72 near and dear ones in Karbala) and 21st day of Ramadan is like Ashoor Day. Mourners visited the holy shrines of Hazrat Imam Reza (AS) and Hazrat Masoomah (SA). There they arranged majalis, recited Marasi (elegies), did sina-zani and shed tears thus offered condolences to the Imam (AS) and his sister (SA) on the martyrdom of their grandfather Hazrat Ali (AS). Supreme Leader of the country Ayatullah Ali Khamenei attended a majlis-e-aza held at hussainyah (late) Ayatullah Khomeini in Tehran. Majalis were also held in other parts of the country including Khurasan, Ardbail, Shiraz and Gardez. END |
