Eid festival celebration in India By: Irfan Malik NEW DELHI, India: The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated on Wednesday across India like Iraq, Iran, Pakistan and African countries as Gambia and Gini with religious respect and fervor. Flocks dressed in their finest threads thronged to hundreds of Eid congregations in different cities and towns of the country i.e. New Delhi, Lucknow, Bombay, Haiderabad and Calcutta. They hugged each other after the Eid prayer saying ‘Eid Mubarak’ to each other. Special prayers were offered for freedom of occupied Muslim territories. Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramazan and beginning of Shewwal, and boosts the harmony among the Muslims throughout the world. Meanwhile, Eid was also celebrated in liberated and occupied Kashmir on Wednesday. END |
