Ayatullah Sadeq Khalkhali passes away

TEHRAN, Iran: Iran’s Ayatullah Sadeq Khalkhali has died on November 26, Shawwal 1, at the age of 76 after battling a number of illnesses.

However, his death was announced on November 27.

Ayatullah Khalkhali was the judge who sent hundreds of anti-revolution pro-Shah people to the gallows in the first months following the 1979 Islamic revolution.
