Brazil hosts 17th international conference on Islam and world By: Mohamed Ali SALVADOR, Brazil: The Islamic mission center of Latin America organized in Brazil its seventeenth international conference of Muslims from south America and Caribbean Sea titled “Islam and the world” under the auspices of Brazilian president. Delegations of scholars and diplomats from Islamic and Arabic embassies in Brazil, the Islamic world association envoys, presidents and members of the societies and the widespread centers in Brazil as well as scholars from orthodox and Catholic churches attended the conference. Topics discussed during different sessions of the international conference were: The Christian Islamic coexistence, the dialogues with the religions, dialogue with religions in Islam, the future of Muslim minorities, religions are peace message, Muslim role in life, stuck problems between Islam and West, what Islam offers to humanity, African Islamic roots in Brazil, scientific miracle in Holy Quran, Muslim family an international cell, challenges that face the International community, the woman's rights and towards a better future to south America Muslims. Lebanese archbishop Demiskino Mansour, Dr Al-Bazm, Dr Abdullah Ubaid, Dr Nasser Latwem, priest Santo, Dr Ferfor, Dr Salih Al-Vahibi, Rizqullah Thomas, Ahmad As-Sayfi, Sheikh Abdul Hamid, Muhsin Al-Hasni, Dr Abdullah Al-Muslih, Dr Mohammad Habib, Saud Al-Yousef and others addressed. The Christian scholars in their lectures in the conference expressed their certainty that Islam is religion of peace and dialogue despite distortion of Islam and Muslims by the Western media. END |
