Israeli raids victims inhumed; Arafat demands intl action By: Ahmad Hammadi RAMALLAH, West Bank: Palestinians martyred in Monday’s Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip have been laid to rest on Tuesday with tens of thousands of mourners shouting for revenge, and separately Palestinian President Yasser Arafat urged world leaders to take immediate action on the raids. Israeli military helicopters on Monday struck Gaza City thrice leaving at least 11 Palestinians martyred, dozens injured and destructing several buildings. Talking to newsmen Tuesday in his first public comments on air raids, Arafat said that world leaders, including a “Quartet” of powers trying to secure a peace agreement, should “immediately intervene to stop this military madness”.
