Baghdad demo demands apology for preacher detention By: Hamoud Kufi BAGHDAD, Iraq: Several dozen Iraqi protestors on Wednesday took over a police station across from the Ali Kazem Al-Bayai mosque in southwestern Baghdad, where they gathered against the brief detention Tuesday of their preacher Moayed Al-Khazraji. The demonstrators were demanding an apology from US forces for the detention. During the rally, several US military vehicles arrived but were driven away by a hail of stones. American soldiers fired shots in the air to disperse the protestors who pelted them with rocks. Afterwards, a US Apache helicopter circled the mosque.
