Rajab 15: Ayat Shirazi speaks on worth of holding majalis-e-aza By: Sultan Ahmed DAMASCUS, Syria: Marking the martyrdom anniversary of the great daughter of Al-Imam Ali (as) and Sayyidah Fatimah Zahra (sa) Sayyidah Zaynab (sa), Ayatullah Sayyid Mortaza Ash-Shirazi delivered a lecture in Damascus about the status of the Prophet Muhammad (saww)’s grand daughter. He said each and every aspect of the holy life of Sayyidah Zaynab (sa) is a guiding light for all. She possessed that great status in knowledge that she was called “Al-Aqeelah” – a noble lady to whom turn the whole nation in great problems. He said that according to Allamah Tebressi (late) Sayyidah Zaynab (sa) reported a number of Ahadith (sayings) from Sayyidah Fatimah Zahra (sa), from Umm-e-Ayman, from Umm-e-Hani bint-e-Abi Talib (as) etc, and her nephew Al-Imam Sajjad (as) reported Ahadith from her. Highlighting the significance of holding majalis-e-aza in commemoration of Sayyidah Zaynab (sa) who protected the message of the blood of Karbala Martyrs, the Ayatullah As-Shirazi quoted a story reported by the compiler of “Al-Kibreet Al-Ahmar” book. The compiler said that a Sayyid man known for his piety and righteousness in the holy city of Najaf – the man was illiterate and he was not able to get education due to his poverty. One day he saw a Turk man reciting holy Quran very well, thereat he asked of himself: “How am I from the progeny of the Prophet (saww) and I do not know the holy Quran?” then he despite severe conditions began getting knowledge in half of his time while the other half he spent in earning. He learned and learned till he became a great scholar from among the pupils of grand Marje Ad-Dini Mirza Hassan Ash-Shirazi – he said that I saw in a dream that Al-Imam Al-Hujjah bin Al-Hassan Al-Montazar (as) was weeping and he was very grieved. One can imagine the pain he feels in himself when he finds her father or mother or son weeping, but he was the Imam of the era, I could not stop myself from asking the Imam reason of his weeping. Therefore, I asked and he replied: “Do you not know that this day is the martyrdom day of my grandmother Sayyidah Zaynab (sa)?” the Imam added and he was weeping: “This day the angels have arranged a majlis-e-aza for Sayyidah Zaynab (sa) and recited her address she delivered in Kufa.” END |
