Iraqis mark anniversary of martyrdom of Imam Al-Kazim (a)

KAZMAYN SHARIFAYN, Iraq: Tens of thousands of Iraqi mourners on Sunday and Monday descended at Kazmayn Sharifayn, Baghdad, to mark the martyrdom anniversary of the Seal of Prophets, Prophet Muhammad (p)’s seventh infallible descendant Al-Imam Musa bin Jafar Al-Kazim (p).

The men, women and children dressed in black mourning wears began swarming at the holy mausoleum of Al-Imam Al-Kazim (p) in Kazmayn Sharifayn from across the country on Sunday, the eve of the martyrdom anniversary.

Carrying the coffin of the pious Imam (p), the grieved mourners marched through the streets outside the Kazimiyah Shrine. They chanted dirges and elegies while weeping, shedding tears and pounding their chests and heads.

Later, they entered the shrine where one could hear only sighs and cries; atmosphere was deeply sad.
