Indian Muslims rally against Sharon’s upcoming visit

BOMBAY, India: Thousands of Muslims staged a protest on Friday against the forthcoming visit to India of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who has made the life of the Palestinians hell, near the Minara mosque in Bombay.

Carrying anti-Israel placards, the protestors chanted Slogans. Police contingent was also present on the occasion for security.

Sharon's visit due next week is stirring fears among Indian Muslims that the two countries are forging a new and potentially anti-Islamic alliance.
