City of Bint-e-Ali (pbuh) observes Arbaeen By: Sultan Ahmed
DAMASCUS, Syria: In commemoration of Arbaeen Al-Imam Abi Abdellahil Hussein (peace be on him), mourners organized mourning programs at holy shrines of Ahlul Bayt (peace be on them), mosques, husseiniyat, Islamic centers and foundations in Syria like other parts of the world. Grand processions were taken out under the arrangement of different organizations from mosques and husseiniyat. The processions after marching through the streets of Damascus culminated at the holy shrine of Sayyedah Zainab bint-e-Ali (peace be on them). Hussainiyah Hawzah Ilmiyah Zainabiya organized an annual three-day majalis program (Safar Al-Mozaffar 18-20) founded by Ayatullah As-Sayyed Hassan Ash-Shirazi (late). Large number of people as well as visitors of Sayyedah Zainab (peace be on her) and Sayyedah Sakinah bintul Hussein (peace be on them) attended.
Abbas Nuri opened the daily Majalis program with recitation of holy Quran followed by speech of As-Sayyed Modher Al-Kazvini. He threw light on the objective of Husseini revolution saying that it revived the divine message entrusted to the Prophets (peace be on them), and then Sayyedah Zainab (peace be on her) disseminated it to the whole world with courage and firmness. He described in detail the event of Ahlul Bayt (peace be on them)’s return to Karbala on the Day of Arbaeen. Later, Aza Al-Latam, or the chest beating, was performed and zyarah of Aqeelah Bani Hashem Sayyedah Zainab (peace be on her) was read out.
On Safar 20, an annual mourning program comprised of a Majlis Al-aza followed by a Dhuljinah procession was held at Hussainiyah Pakistania Sayyedah Zainab (peace be on her) after Zohrain prayers. The procession ended at the holy shrine of Syyedah Zainab (peace be on her), the daughter of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be on them), after Latam with Qama and zangir, or striking swords and razors on head and shoulder, paying rich homage to Martyrs of Karbala.
