Farewell Hussaini mourning programs in India By: Irfan Malik
MUMBAI, India: As the 9th of Rabi-ul-Avval - end of Ayyam-e-Aza-e-Hussaini – approaches, farewell majalis-e-aza and processions held in India like other parts of the world. Multitudes attended these programs held at different mosques and imambaras. Speakers paid rich homage to Imam Hussain (a.s.), the grandson of holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (s.a.w.), and his 72 near and dear ones who along with him laid that supreme sacrifice in the burning desert of Karbala some 1400 years ago for the defense of religion and shariah and safety of high values of humanity which is unparallel.
Besides other imambaras, 10-day Majalis were held at Imambara Zainabia, Husainiya Marg Mumbai from 28th Safar to 7th Rabiul Awwal. Maulana Meesum Zaidi addressed. A Juloos-e-Aza (mourning procession) was taken out from Gurunanak Park to Bandra Khoja Masjid, Bandra (west) Mumbai on 27th April after Namaz-e-Maghrabayn. END |
