Saudi Arabia to host intl conference on Islam and terrorism By: Abdulali RIYADH, Saudi Arabia: Muslim scholars, researchers and philosophers from Saudi Arabia and other countries will attend a 3-day international conference on Islam and terrorism. Riyadh-based Mohammed bin Saud Islamic University will organize the conference on April 20-22, 2004. According to the Director of the University the participants will exchange views on roots and causes of terrorism as well as on suitable means for its eradication. “They will make it clear that Islam has nothing to do with terrorism and violence, because it is the religion of moderation and tolerance,” he said adding “It is hoped that the participants of the conference will successfully refute false allegations about the stance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia vis-à-vis terrorism.” END |
