Medics for Ayat Sistani say no need of surgery By: Nabil Raza LONDON: A team of physicians that supervises the health condition of Ayatullah Sayyed Ali As-Sistani in a London hospital confirmed that he will not require heart surgery. According to a statement from As-Sistani office in London the Ayatullah underwent several tests related to heart and its arteries since his arrival to London from the holy city of Najaf last Friday following his suffering from health troubles in the coronary arteries. In light of the obtained results the medical team excluded the need for a surgical intervention for treatment of heart troubles being suffered by Ayatullah As-Sistani, said the statement. But the medics decided continuation of consultations and other medical tests and checkups for specification of necessary treatment for the Ayatullah. The statement requested Mo’mineen - the believers - that hope they do not forget Ayatullah As-Sistani in their prayers as he does not forget them in his prayers. Earlier, Director Ayatullah Sistani’s office in London Sayyed Murtaza Al-Kashmiri declared that the Ayatullah was transferred on Sunday from Cromwell Hospital to another hospital for continuation of tests. He did not reveal the name of the hospital; however, some of the sources mentioned that it is Wellington Hospital. Al-Kashmiri told that the medical tests were still continuous to diagnose his disease, and that these tests take place slowly because the health of Auyatullah does not help in holding these in one day. He made clear that the Ayatullah is being treated at private expenses. END |
