Shirazi delegation calls on Ayat Sistani in London

LONDON, Britain: A representative delegation of Ayatullah Sayyed Sadiq Ash-Shirazi visited Ayatullah Sayyed Ali As-Sistani in London hospital.

The delegation, comprised of a number of religious scholars and elites, was headed by Ayatullah Sayyed Mortaza Ash-Shirazi, secretary general Ayatullah Shirazi International Foundation, on Saturday 14 August 2004 paid the visit in Wellington hospital in the British capital city of London to inquire about the health of Ayatullah As-Sistani.

The delegation conveyed to Ayatullah As-Sistani a message of regards from Ayatullah Sadiq Ash-Shirazi as well as prayers for his health and speedy recovery.

Ayatullah As-Sistani, landed in London from the holy city of Najaf on August 6 for heart treatment, had undergone eye surgery on Monday after an operation to unblock a coronary artery last week. His spokesman said the Ayatullah wants to return to Iraq as soon as possible owing to critical situation in the holy city.
