India holds Kashmiris protesting on Haydari shrine damage By: A.A. Rathor SRINAGAR, Held Kashmir: Indian police has detained on Tuesday 24 August nearly a dozen Kashmiri protesters who were protesting against the reported damage to the holy shrine of Hazrat Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be on him) in the holy city of Najaf. The outer western wall of the sacred shrine of Hazrat Imam Ali (peace be on him) was damaged on the night between Sunday and Monday during bloody clashes between US-led coalition forces and Moqtada Sadr’s militiamen. The Kashmiris staged their protest rally outside the office of the United Nations Military Observers Group for Indian and Pakistan, in Srinagar, capital of the Indian occupied Kashmir. END |
