Saudi Arabia: M’day of Ayat Baqer Al-Hakim observed

By: Abdulali

SEHAT, Saudi Arabia: First martyrdom anniversary of Ayatullah Sayyed Muhammad Baqer Al-Hakim, chairman Iraq’s Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution and son of grand Marje of Shia World Grand Ayatullah Sayyed Mohsin Al-Hakim, was observed in Saudi Arabia on 22 August Sunday.

Marking the occasion, the celebrations committee organized a commemorative program at Husaynyah Nasser in Sehat city. Program opened with recitation of Quranic verses by Al-Ustaz Muhammad Abdel Karim Al-Hamoud.

After that, a part of Ayatullah Al-Hakim’s speech in which he was reciting martyrdom of Aba Abdellah Al-Husayn (peace be upon him) was displayed on projector screen.

Al-Ustaz Ali Ja’far, Ash-Sheikh Mehdi Miqdad and many others recited eulogies in praise of late Ayatullah Al-Hakim who was martyred along with more than 9-dozen worshippers in late August last year in a bomb blast outside the holy shrine of Imam Ali bin Abi Taleb (peace be upon them) in the holy city of Najaf, Iraq.

Sheikh Ali Al-Kobesh, addressing the gathering, threw light on different aspects of the life of late Ayatyullah Baqer Al-Hakim and thus paid rich tributes to the Iraqi leader.

It is worth mentioning that an exhibition prepared for this occasion included various albums of the martyr photographs, and another section related to the intellectual productions of the martyr Ayatullah Al-Hakim’s that comprised of books and CDs records etc.

"Knowledge is better than wealth because it protects you while you have to guard wealth. it decreases if you keep on spending it but the more you make use of knowledge ,the more it increases . what you get through wealth disappears as soon as wealth disappears but what you achieve through knowledge will remain even after you."
